We Have Chickens!!!

It finally happened. Oh, dear. We went to the farmers market to pick up our chickens from Chris of Under A Rock Farm. And then drove them home in our Subaru. That was an experience. Got them all in the coop and they are settling in. EEEEEEE!!!! CHICKENS!!!!

Mystery Plant Identified: Catnip

I found something coming up in the front yard gardens that clearly looked like it was in the mint family. The only such thing I’ve planted out there was lemon balm, and this plant definitely didn’t smell like lemon balm. It did have a strong, familiar smell though. I just couldn’t place it. I decided to transplanted it back by the coop to help repel bugs.

The neighbor’s cat has helped me identify it as catnip! Of course. And she’s been coming by every day to roll around on it.
